Over the last few months you may have noticed me raving about Bentley's new dog food by Hill's Ideal Balance™ Crafted® and I have every reason to brag a little about it. The truth is, most people don't look at the ingredients in their dog food and my goal is to get you to start noticing exactly what you dog is eating.

Hill's dog food is:

  • Made in Small Batches
  • Oven Roasted
  • Grain Free
  • Made with Gluten Free Ingredients
  • Perfectly Balanced Nutrition

Hill's has done a wonderful job with their Small batch Artisan Crafted dog food which has been Oven roasted in a Homemade style. It features ingredients that I feed to my family, like chickpeas and chicken, and has inspired me to cook as often as possible and even take a cooking refine my skills in the kitchen.

What I learned in my cooking class is that creating food is a form of artwork and to be able to make a masterpiece you must first start off with the best materials. That is why choosing natural ingredients is a key in making a delicious meal. The second thing I learned is that food is not just something we eat but it conjures up feelings and emotions. Not only does food take over all of your senses but it can also take you places. Taking a bite of a delicious meal can bring back long lost memories like your childhood Sunday dinners or Grandma's homestyle cooking.

I learned that masterpieces take time and can't be rushed and this is so true about food. Making sure each component is added at the right time and cooked to the perfect temperature is what gives the meal life and flavor. Just like a lasagna that must be assemble piece by piece but when it you take a bite of the finished product it is like symphony with different ingredients all coming together in harmony, complementing one another in the perfect balance of flavor.

The final thing I learned is that food is the essence of life. It has the ability to create a better and healthier you if you make conscious decisions. This is why I would like you to please look at the labels of dog food when shopping. Food can keep you healthy or make you sick and it is the same for your dog. Some things you can look for which are included in Hill's pet food are:

1) Lean Protein- which keeps your dog slim, trim & healthy

2) Grain Free & Gluten Free iron rich legume which helps maintain healthy muscle for an energetic & healthy lifestyle

3) Flavorful natural herbs which provides a flavorful accent to the food your dog will love

4) Omega 3 & 6 Fatty Acids which improves skin and coat.

Since I get to enjoy the beauty making delicious homemade meals for my family I obviously want my dog to enjoy the same standard of quality food when it comes to her dog food and Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted dog has hit the nail on the head for me. They have taken each and every aforementioned point into consideration and implemented it into their dog food so that my Bentley can enjoy the masterpiece that is food and since I want the best for my dog this is my ideal dog food for her.

Afterall, who doesn't like seeing their dog smile?

For the last couple of months, Bentley has been reaping the benefits of a new and improved lifestyle #InspiredbyCrafted. Ever since she started her new diet of Hill’s® Ideal Balance™ Crafted™ dog food, things have been on the up and up in all departments of life, and mine too. Not only is she eating healthier food and staying active but I too have been inspired to eat healthier and be more active with her; I've even gotten my family members involved in this new healthier lifestyle. We've been going on more walks and outings to the dog park as well as monitoring her daily activity with a special app on my phone.

Being consciously aware of what I feed Bentley has made me do a double take on the things I eat as well. When I learned of all the healthy ingredients in Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted dog food, I knew that it was time to ditch her old dog food that contained corn and stick with this more balanced option that features Ancient Grains and thoughtfully sourced Proteins.

The things that I love about the Hill’s® Ideal Balance™ Crafted™ dog food are that it is:

  • Made in small batches

  • Made in the USA

  • Contains Natural ingredients

  • Contains No wheat, corn or soy

  • Contains No artificial colors, flavors or preservative

  • Available in Grain free varieties

The small batches means that Ideal Balance Crafted dog food is made just the way you would- one very special batch at a time. As a matter of fact if you didn't catch one of my last blog posts, I showed a recipe I tried out that was actually inspired by some of the very same ingredients as is featured in Ideal Balance Crafted dog food, like the Ancient Grain Quinoa.

Finally, Artisan Crafted Dog Food has Arrived #InspiredbyCrafted

This post is sponsored by Hill’s. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Hill’s® Ideal Balance™ Crafted™, but My Pit Bull Friend only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Inc. is not responsible for the content of this article.

As a dog owner, I want the best for my dog and that means staying healthy. To ensure this we go on walks and hikes together regularly and stay as active as possible. A healthy lifestyle is very heavily based upon what you eat. You know the saying "You are what you eat", well it rings true for dog's as well as humans.

When it comes to food, I love a nice home cooked meal and sometime prepare food for Bentley but I don't have the time to make my own dog food daily so she usually eats dry food. As of recently, I've noticed that Bentley has been neglecting her food bowl and this has prompted me to go on the hunt for a new dog food.

On my quest for this new dog food I started reading the ingredient list of many different brands of dog food and noticed that the number one ingredients in most brands was corn. (Corn is readily available and cheap so it is used in a lot of animal foods) I do not want to feed my dog a product that is mostly corn and a little bit of by-product meat. I have read the negative effects and don't want that for my dog. No thanks!

Well after discovering Hill’s® Ideal Balance™ Crafted™, I got really excited because this is exactly what I was looking for plus some. This dog food does not have any Corn in it but better yet it also doesn't  have any Wheat, Soy, Artificial Colors, Preservatives, No Chicken-By Product Meal, Gluten Free, and it's Oven Roasted.

Bentley tried some and she loved it so it's safe to say that she won't be neglecting her bowl anymore. I occasionally bake dog treats in the oven and they remind me of this dog food. What I like about it is that when you look at the kibble it looks homemade. You can actually see the small pieces of herbs used in it and the color is natural, not red or green as some other brands.

Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted is an Artisan Crafted dog food made in small batches in the USA using quality ingredients like Ancient Grains and crafted with care, which is perfect if you love that home cooked meal style. The master chefs add the herbs to each batch by hand and knead the dough to make sure it's just right, then they oven roast the dough to lock in all of the deliciousness, home style, made the way you would!

I'm excited to continue the journey for a healthier lifestyle for Bentley so that she will have many many more years to spend with my family,

because pets are family too and family is the most important thing!

We will post another  review soon to show you how the Hill's diet has been going, but in the meantime check out this video:
